Novel Sodium Alginate/Polyvinylpyrrolidone/TiO2 Nanocomposite for Efficient Removal of Cationic Dye from Aqueous Solution

The combination of adsorption and photodegradation processes is an effective technique for the removal dye contaminants from water, which motivating development novel adsorbent-photocatalyst materials wastewater treatment. Herein, nanocomposite porous beads were developed using titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanotubes embedded in a sodium alginate (SA)/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) matrix calcium chloride solution as crosslinker. prepared beads’ performance was examined breakdown methylene blue aqueous solutions. Several operation factors influencing decomposition process, including photocatalyst dosage, illumination time, light intensity, stability investigated. findings demonstrated that activity changed with TiO2 weight ratio composite. It found SA/PVP/TiO2-3 presented greatest deterioration efficiency (98.9%). cycling ability reusability SA/PVP/TiO2 recommend their use efficient, eco-friendly treatment wastewaters contaminated cationic dyes.
